MAMA IS BACK!
MAMA IS BACK!
Happy summer, Mama Farm members! We are so delighted to have you with us! There's lots going on this season – let's dive in!
This year, Freya will run a crafting table at Mama's CSA teepee pick up on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings to teach members how to make these creations and other delights including fresh flower crowns, lanyards and more.
Additionally, our Mama Farm stand will have iced Colombe coffees and award winning Athletica Beer to keep members cool in the hot months.
Finally, on Saturday mornings, we’re so happy to have fresh, hot beignets for sale from chef Cheryl Griggs of Chara’s Kitchen. Cheryl’s cooking is the ultimate #IYKYK Bellport secret and we're so excited to be partnering with her this year on beignets and more! Watch for our profile on Cheryl in July’s issue of our Mama Farm newsletter.

The Colombian-themed menu featuring items like patillazo-waermelon-lime punch, duck rice with farm eggs, sausage, and fresh coriander seed or vegetable sancocho will be cooked by Chef Francis Derby. Dinner and drinks are included in the price of your ticket and will be served picnic-style while guests are serenaded under the night sky.
$150/person (CSA members get 15% discount); Children 0-12 are free.
July 9th, 6pm | Learn To Tell Your Story with The Moth | Rain Date July 16, 6pm
Budding storytellers and writers – this one's for you! Get inspired while listening to an esteemed Moth storyteller tell their tale of transformation and growth. To help ripen that story you’ve been yearning to tell, The Moth's artistic team and co-authors of How to Tell a Story: The Essential Guide to Memorable Storytelling from The Moth will share the nuances of how they craft their stories. Dinner by Chef Fran Derby will include basil blossom and strawberry elixir, ancient grains and snap pea salad with pistachio gremolata topped with slow roasted pork shoulder or grilled eggplant. Dinner and drinks are included in the price of your ticket and will be served picnic-style while guests enjoy the storytelling and workshop.

Members can submit their most pressing questions via our small intake box at the CSA pick up.
Dear Liz Sorts Your Biz,
I really don’t like my dad’s girlfriend’s kids. They are really boring and small minded. Do I have to pretend to my dad that I do?Z
– Oscar for Best (or Worst) Actor
Dear Oscar,
You don't have to live in tinsel town to win an Academy award. This is a very easy task, your acting job for the day is to play Doris Day or Rock Hudson. Your first task is to go to wardrobe and treat yourself to a new outfit. Your second task is rehearsal – give yourself a pep talk. And last is to smile and act away. Never give them a reason to complain about you. Entertainment can be rewarding so have some fun with it. This is a very simple task to make your Dad proud of you. Always remember there's always a glass of wine at the end of the day.
- And the winner is, Liz
